For my September journal page, I chose to bead my husband's favorite chair. It desperately needed to be replaced, as the stuffing was escaping in places. But hubby preferred to cover the holes with duct tape, because it was comfy like an old pair of slippers. I cut a square of the black leather out of the arm of the chair and used it for the chair in this square. His empty chair represents the empty spot in our lives.

Jeanette, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your chair is lovely, a very nice tribute.
Jeanette, I think this is a wonderful tribute to your husband. Im sure he would appreciate it.
Hugs,

Jeanette, that empty chair is so very very lonely. Gordon was always so lively and his chair was always shared with grandkids in his lap. It is no small wonder the duct tape held all the comfort and love that it was expected to hold over the grands younger years. He was a bigger than life happy persona to all, and especially to the children whom he so adored. I am so pleased to see how you have memorialized him with this month's BJP. It speaks volumes.

Ooh- this is lovely!
What a great page Jeanette! A great memory, if also a sad one, in something that meant so much to your husband! I am wondering if all husbands have a chair like this? I know mine does!
It's amazing how much an image of a chair can say about the man who sat in it. A beautiful memory of your husband, and the beginning of healing for you. Hugs, Susan

Beautiful, and perfectly heartbreaking. I love the chair, the image, and how you tackled beading it... but am sad for the story behind the whole piece.
It's a touching tribute.

Oh Jeanette, your story is so sad and heartbreaking. It is good that you can find some peace in your beadwork! I didnt know about your husband and son both passing until now. I cannot imagine such a loss. The chair is such a loving tribute to your husband. You did a beautiful job with it. I send a big hug to you over the internet. Tracey
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, the chair is such a wonderful reminder of your husband. You will be surrounded by genuine caring and support by the members of this BJP group.
Dear Jeanette... You, who give and give... so much to so many people... now it's your turn to receive our love and support. Through his chair, we have a sense of your husband... supportive, comfortable, easy-going, un-pretentious. I can sense, looking at your version of his chair, that he was your rock. Thank you for giving us this sense of him (and of your relationship with hima) through your September bead journal page. Perhaps there will be more about him and your son in future pages... I hope so. Love and hugs, Robin A.
Jeanette,
what a wonderful, beautiful, LOVING tribute.
And so original and creative.
You tug so strongly at my heart.
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss! The empty chair said alot before I even read your post! I hope this beading project helps a little with your grief. Sending you warm, healing thoughts!
